South African Ballet Theatre Announces 2009 Season

South Africa's largest professional ballet company, The South African Ballet Theatre (SABT), is pleased to announce its 2009 Season.

Cork City Ballet 2008 Irish National Tour – Sleeping Beauty Suite

For its November 2008 Irish national tour, Cork City Ballet presents a suite from The Sleeping Beauty, along with a series of sparkling Divertiss in act1. They include Alan Foley's ballet Gira Con Me with music by Josh Groban, and La Vivandiere from the repertoire of the Kirov Ballet.

“Forever” – Choreographed by Laura Peterson – Postponed until February 2009

Ellie Covan, Artistic Director of Dixon Place, announced today the opening of the world premiere of FOREVER. , created by Laura Peterson Choreography, on October 29, 2008.

Diablo Ballet “An Evening on Broadway” November 21st – 22nd, 2008

An evening celebrating Broadway music featuring the Tony Award winning musical, Swing, Christopher Stowell's Eyes on You set to Cole Porter, and George Balanchine's Who Cares? set to the music of George Gershwin. Also, Viktor Kabaniaev's Difference of Perceptions set to live piano.

Moving Into Dance Mophatong 30th Anniversary, “Threads” & “Ek se Hola”

30th anniversary of Moving into Dance Mophatong. This celebration will culminate in a season at the Wits Theatre from 23 – 26 October 2008 featuring a new choreography “Threads” and the electrifying “Ek se Hola

Hong Kong Ballet to perform at 10th China Shanghai International Arts Festival

The Hong Kong Ballet (HKB) has set off this morning on their China Tour 2008 - which includes Shanghai, Hangzhou, and Ningbo. The Company will be presenting five performances of Giselle and Clear from 25th October to 1st November, premiering with Giselle in the 10th China Shanghai International Arts Festival (CSIAF).

Henning Rübsam: SENSEDANCE performs a special engagement for its 2008 season with the premiere of "Cloudforest" at The Ailey Citigroup Theater (The Joan Weill Center for Dance), 405 West 55th Street at 9th Avenue. The program of new dances will be performed Saturday, November 8th - Tuesday, November 11th at 8:00 pm (Sunday 11/9 at 7 pm).
