92Y Weekend Dance Marathon – Hours of Dance for Just $10

Contemporary, tap, neo-Baroque, ballroom, ballet, classic 20th-century modern and more. The 92nd Street Y Harkness Dance Center kicks off its 75th Anniversary season with a Weekend Dance Marathon on Saturday and Sunday, October 10 and 11.

Career Transition For Dancers is presenting its National Outreach Project in Phoenix, AZ: October 4, 2009. The free workshop is for pre-professionals, students, current and former professional dancers, college students, teachers and choreographers. Career Transition For Dancers’ mission is to enable dancers to define their career possibilities and develop the skills necessary to excel in a variety of disciplines.

"Yesterday we lost a great dancer / actor who has graced us with memorable performances on stage, screen and television. Patrick Swayze (1952 – 2009) will be honored posthumously with the 2009 Rolex Dance Award on Monday, November 2, at Career Transition For Dancers 24th Anniversary Jubilee Gala at New York’s City Center. Our board of directors and the more than 4,100 dancer-clients nationwide send our deepest condolences to his loving wife Lisa Niemi Swayze and to his family,” stated Executive Director Alexander J.
