92ND STREET Y HARKNESS DANCE CENTER 75th ANNIVERSARY GALA

The seminal event of this anniversary year will be our Gala performance, held in the 92nd Street Y’s historic Kaufmann Concert Hall. The program includes reminiscences, film clips and, of course, lots of dance, all of it intimately connected with the 92nd Street Y. We’ve brought back dances that were premiered, performed and created here, and are showcasing artists and companies we’ve supported and worked with. The theme of the Gala, and of our entire anniversary year, is Past-Future-Now, as our dance history informs the work of today’s artists and tomorrow’s dancers and audiences. The Gala program includes works by Martha Graham, Doug Varone, Katherine Dunham, David Parsons, Pearl Lang, Monica Bill Barnes, Alvin Ailey, Doris Humphrey and Jerome Robbins.
